Brazilian Cherry is very hard and durable. The problem was, the maintenance. A company was applying wax based products and that resulted in thick residue buildup that scuffs and scratches easily. On site-finished floors after the wax is stripped off - the floor needs to be re-coated with new finish.

Being exposed to a lot of sun and walking, wax get softer and scuffs easily

Floor finish is the most durable top coat, it doesn't need anything over it, it defeats the purpose

Brazilian Cherry is much more durable then oak. All this damages are not on the wood, not even on the finish, it is on the wax
